About HSK 3 reading
At HSK 3 you move from sentences to paragraphs. Texts describe experiences and simple opinions — a trip, a plan that changed, a problem at work or school — and sentences start using comparison, sequence, and cause. You can usually get the gist without pinyin, reaching for it only on new words.
Lessons at this level are written to be read in a few minutes, with a handful of genuinely new words each, kept guessable from context. This is the level where regular practice starts to feel like reading rather than decoding.
How the reader works
Read the Chinese text first — every word is tappable for pinyin and a meaning in your language. Turn pinyin or translation on when you need them and off when you don't. Sign in to save words, and come back later to the exact sentence you found them in.

Is HSK 3 the right level for me?
If you can follow short everyday passages but full articles still feel heavy, yes. If you stop at every second word, step down a level; if you never stop, step up.
Do I still need pinyin at HSK 3?
Mostly for new words. Try reading with pinyin off and tapping only the words that block you — the tap shows pinyin and meaning together.
