At HSK 2 dialogues get a goal: arranging to meet, asking for directions, returning something to a shop. Turns are still short, but speakers now respond to each other — agreeing, declining, suggesting — so you practice reading the back-and-forth, not just the lines.
Scenes at this level stay concrete and finish quickly. New phrases arrive inside exchanges whose shape you have already seen, which is how conversational Chinese actually sticks.
